Electrical Testing & Maintenance

We Specialize in Equipment Testing and Preventive Maintenance of Facility Electrical Distribution Systems.

A comprehensive Electrical Maintenance Program (EMP) is necessary to ensure the integrity and reliability of your distribution system and corresponding assets. Studies show that unplanned maintenance costs are at least three times higher than planned outages; and can reach as high as six or even seven times the cost of planned maintenance. We will evaluate your system and work with you to implement a cohesive and compliant EMP that meets industry standards and manufacturers specifications pertaining to condition assessments, maintenance scopes, and testing intervals.

Preventive Maintenance

Our Preventive Maintenance Programs are structured around ANSI, NETA, NFPA, and OSHA standards and range in size from modest infrared inspections to complex shutdowns that require detailed planning and coordination.
  • Infrared Inspections (Thermography)
  • Energized & De-Energized Maintenance
  • Megger Testing
  • Primary and Secondary Injection Testing
  • Ultrasonic Inspections
  • Equipment Cleaning & Exercising
  • Infrared Window Installation

Medium Voltage testing & Maintenance

Our Preventive Maintenance Programs extend to equipment voltages of 115,000V+ and include the following:
  • Oil-Filled Circuit Breakers
  • Vacuum Circuit Breakers
  • SF6 (Sulfer Hexafluoride)
  • Circuit Breakers
  • Substations

Arc Flash Hazard Analysis & Coordination Studies

We’ll make sure your facility is in compliance with NFPA 70E – Standard for Electrical Safety in the Workplace
  • Site & Equipment Evaluation
  • Custom Programming
  • Facility Risk Assessment and Mitigation
  • NFPA 70E Compliance

Cable testing & fault locating

Cable testing is done to predict cable failures and locate already existing faults.
  • Very Low Frequency Testing (VLF)
  • High Potential Testing
  • Splicing & Terminations

Protective Relays

Relays work by detecting faults and then tripping circuit breakers to prevent electrical energy from causing damage. Testing is critical both during the commissioning stage and throughout the relay’s functional life.
  • Testing
  • Calibration

Acceptance Testing

This occurs concurrently with commissioning. It’s critical to perform field-testing so that each electrical component is assessed to verify their suitability for initial energization.
  • Transformer Assembly & Testing
  • Internal Inspections
  • Dielectric Fluid Sampling & Lab Analysis
