Our History

Schuler-Haas Electric Corp. with locations in Rochester, Ithaca, Binghamton, and Corning, NY has been a leader in electrical contracting since 1961. The business was started by Jack Schuler, George Haas, and Joyce Donnelly in the basement of Jack’s father’s house. After experiencing steady growth, they moved to 224 Mt. Hope in 1964 where they remained for 36 years. In 2000, a significant change occurred as Jack and George retired and were bought out by Dan Streicher and Jack’s son Edward Schuler. They moved the company to a 16,000-foot facility located just across the street. Throughout the years they integrated the latest technologies to help their clients take advantage of the newest in telecommunications, fiber optics, solar arrays, and design/build services.

Our FUTURE

Beginning in 2022, the future of Schuler-Haas Electric will look to our new Executive Team in keeping the core values of the company in place. The same principles that started with Jack Schuler and George Haas in 1961, carried forward by Dan Streicher and Ed Schuler beginning in 2000, will continue under the leadership of Dan Yonts as the Executive Vice-President, Jason Clark the Director of Project Management and Estimating, Jeremy Frederici the Vice-President for our Ithaca Operations and Nick Schuler our CFO. 

“Doing the Right Thing” has been our core value throughout the years and these four individuals will continue to execute its importance to our employees, customers, suppliers, and the communities in which we live.  As the company moves forward under new leadership, Schuler-Haas Electric Corp. will continue to improve the quality of life in the communities in which we live.  

“WIRED FOR THE GREATER GOOD’’ will be our model as we continue to improve people’s lives by building schools for better education, hospitals to improves ones’ health, solar projects that will create cleaner power, children’s museums for recreation. Jack Schuler and George Haas started the company on the idea of giving the customer a quality installation at a fair market price. Customer satisfaction and company integrity led to sustained growth while creating long-term business relationships that still exist today. The concept has been the cornerstone of the company throughout the years and is called forward by today’s owners Dan Streicher and Ed Schuler.

Throughout the years, the company has continued to serve the commercial, industrial, institution, and utility construction markets. Our high rate of customer satisfaction has allowed us to expand geographically into the Ithaca, Corning, and Binghamton, NY markets.

The longstanding values of “Do the Right Thing” set forth by Jack and George has led the company to be twice named a finalist for the Rochester Business Ethics Award. Our Executive Team

Ed Schuler in Rochester, NY

Edward T. Schuler

Edward Schuler serves as President and COO of Schuler-Haas and oversees all operational functions of the company while establishing overall company strategy. A third-generation electrician, Ed graduated from the IEJATC Training Institute in 1987. He holds management degrees from Monroe Community College and Nazareth College of Rochester. Ed was also a field sales engineer for Cutler-Hammer before coming into the family business in 1996. As an estimator, in 2000 he became President/COO. Ed is currently on the investment management committee for their captive insurance group, Complete Structures. Ed is also involved in the community through his volunteer work with the American Heart Association, as a member of the Advisory Board for The Nazareth College School of Business and Leadership (SBL) and as a Monroe Community College Foundation Board Member.

Dan Streicher in Rochester, NY

Dan Streicher

Dan is the president and CEO of Schuler-Haas Electric. Dan oversees the estimating and project management departments and is also responsible for business development in both new and core markets. He is responsible for assuring sustainable business performance throughout the company. Dan started with Schuler-Haas in 1990 as an estimator/project manager and worked his way up until assuming his current position in 2005. Dan holds an Industrial Technology degree from Alfred State College and has over 25 years experience in the electrical contracting industry. He holds a Masters Electrical License in 3 different cities within New York along with a New York State Fire and Security Alarm License.

Dan Streicher in Rochester, NY

Dan Yonts

Appointed as the executive vice president in 2020 Daniel (Dan) Yonts is bringing his 25 years’ experience to the forefront of Schuler Haas Electric. Dan has worked at every level of the industry. He successfully
completed his IBEW apprenticeship program in 2002. He has managed all size of projects in a multitude of markets including manufacturing plants, R&D facilities, commercial buildings, K-12, higher education, MV installations, temperature controls, fiber optics and solar farm installations. In addition, he helped
organically grow our Corning office over the past 15 years. This now covers most of the southern tier and parts of northern Pennsylvania. Within the last 2 years Dan has also overseen our solar division.
Overseeding over 100M of solar power and growing. Helping lead Shuler-Haas to be the top electrical solar installer in NYS. Dan will be overseeing the day-to-day operation of the company. Continue to lead
us into the bright future of green energy, EV charging stations and Infrastructure improvements. Dan was born and raised in the finger lakes and continues to live there with his wife Sarah. He has also raised
three children that he adores.

Ed Schuler in Rochester, NY

Jason Clark

Electricity runs through his blood being a third-generation electrician. Currently the Director of Project Management and Estimating in 2022 Jason Clark is brings his 27 years’ experience to of Schuler Haas
Electric. Jason has worked in the field and in the Office. He successfully completed his IBEW apprenticeship program in 1999. He has estimated, managed, and assisted in design on all size of projects in a multitude of markets including Museums, Health Care, manufacturing plants, R&D facilities, commercial buildings, K-12, higher education, MV installations, temperature controls, telecommunications, and cleanrooms. In addition, he has 8 years of experience on the General Construction side of the construction industry bringing additional bandwidth to Schuler-Haas and
Customers. Within the last 4 years Jason has also overseen our Rochester office delivering projects through design build, design assist, prime electrical on hard bid and general contractor on hard bid.
Leading Shuler-Haas to be the top electrical design build contractor in the Rochester market. Jason will be overseeing the operations of the Rochester branch office. Jason was born and raised in the Southern
Tier and now lives in Canandaigua. He has also raised Nine children and stepchildren.

Ed Schuler in Rochester, NY

Jeremy Frederici

Jeremy Frederici has been with Schuler-Haas Electric since 2007 working in all positions from apprentice to his current position as the Director of Ithaca Operations. Along with his experience, Jeremy has received multiple certificates including – NABCEP Certified Solar Installation, City of Ithaca Electrical License, and a 10-year OSHA 10 and 30 Instructor. He was involved with one of the first of Schuler-Haas’ commercial solar installations as well as multiple new buildings at Cornell University and Downtown Ithaca. At home he manages an active farm with his family and enjoys the ties agriculture has with the construction industry.

Dan Streicher in Rochester, NY

Nick Schuler

As a 4th generation member of his family to be involved with Schuler-Haas, Nick began his career in 2014 as a project manager and estimator. In 2016, he transitioned to the financial side of the business where he served as corporate controller before being named CFO in February 2022. In his role, Nick oversees all accounting and finance related functions, including long-term financial planning, analysis and reporting; payroll, taxes, and operations support. Nick currently sits on the board for the Rochester
Junior Builders Exchange and has helped in coordinating a number of their service projects throughout the community. He is a graduate of St John Fisher College with a degree in finance and accounting and has an MBA from the U of R Simon Business School. Outside of work, Nick is an avid golfer and die-hard Buffalo Bills fan. He currently resides in Rochester with his wife, Joanna.
